Ron Gramling received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts from UW-La Crosse and was a finalist in the 1996 Wisconsin Waterfowl Stamp Contest. He also was a Wild Wings artist for many years and has shown his work in numerous galleries around the country.
In 2005 his painting career took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with cumulative trauma disorder − a work-related injury for painters − in his right hand and arm. He responded by re-inventing himself as a foot painter. He is able to create works of art with only the use of his feet.
Gramling has developed his technique learned many methods that help him, including the use of white gym socks as a paintbrush.
He will also have his ARTOVANCE (Art to Advance) free sketchbooks on hand for guests to take with them. Many of the ARTOVANCE sketchbooks have traveled across the world, including the Great Wall of China. To see all the places around the world the books have traveled follow ARTOVANCE on Twitter or check them out on Facebook.
His artistic footwork can be viewed on youtube.
